Tom

I accepted Christ as my Savior in the fall of 1974. As a new student at Arizona State University, living in student housing, I first heard the gospel on the radio one evening after classes. Thru the Bible Radio was part of the programming for an area classical music station. After listening to the Bible studies for a couple weeks, J. Vernon McGee, the presenter, explained my condition as a fallen human being in need of salvation. He explained through Scripture who Jesus Christ is and what He did on the cross to redeem us from the penalty of sin. I knew at that point that it was true and that it was for me. I accepted God's gift of eternal life.

God changed me from that point, changing my motivations, aspirations and direction. God has been constant through thick and thin, ups and downs, times of plenty and times of little. God is good and His love endures forever. "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Even though I was raised in a moral, church-going home where I heard all about God and Jesus and their love for me, I somehow never applied all this to my own life and experience. But the Lord in His grace and mercy finally opened my eyes in the fall of 1974. I suddenly realized that I was a sinner who desperately needed Him to save me from the penalty of my sins. Over a week or so, as Dr. J. Vernon McGee taught through the book of Revelation, I realized that this was the truth and it was for me. The Bible says, "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God ..." I received Him then and became His child.

Since then, Tom and I both have had the privilege of years of joyful service leading kids to Christ in Awana Clubs and also in Child Evangelism Fellowship. God has also used our talents in art, music and desktop publishing to serve Him. We are a living testimony of His love and faithfulness.
